Always Speak Your Truth

“Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.” - Mahatma Gandhi

It doesn’t matter what others think—what matters is that you stay true to yourself and aligned with your values. A great exercise: Write down your four most important values in both your personal and professional life. When we stray from our values, we become mere shadows of ourselves.

Think about the energy it takes to maintain the lies we tell ourselves and others. How can anyone find peace without speaking their truth? Own who you are. Never give your power away—to anyone or anything.

Gandhi’s wisdom rings true: “The truth will set you free.” Especially your own truth—your internal truth.

Be proud of who you are. Stop the internal dialogue that tears you down—the I’m too much of this or not enough of that mindset. It’s poison. But here’s the good news: You have the power to transform poison into elixir.

Speak your truth. Especially to yourself.

I salute you, Mr. Gandhi.
